The National House of Journalists of Afghanistan recognizes the importance of access to information as a fundamental principle of freedom of expression. It is the right of every citizen to have timely and accurate information to prevent the spread of false rumors. This can only be achieved if the media and journalists have unrestricted access to information.

As an institution that supports and defends the rights of journalists and media, the National House of Journalists is concerned about the right to access information. In all its meetings with government officials, it has requested the provision of free and safe access to information for journalists. The National House of Journalists emphasizes that access to information is the right of the people, and officials in press departments of government institutions are obligated to share information with the public to prevent the spread of rumors and restriction of public opinion.

Therefore, the National House of Journalists urges the government to appoint competent and professional individuals in press departments who understand their responsibility to provide timely information to the media. This will ensure that citizens have access to accurate and reliable information about government activities and prevent the spread of false rumors.
